Oh-SNAP!

Every now and then I google my name to see if something has been published that I didn’t know about. I was happy to find that photography/art blog Oh-SNAP! made a post highlighting my black and white images. Pretty awesome!

Oh, SNAP!

Noah Berberea.

Some people just have to look at you, and you know they are going to be a fantastic person to photograph. Noah Berberea, of Wildwood Music Company, is one such person. Besides being a charismatic musician, the dude makes my job of photographing him so easy. Find some nice light and my background…and voila! One of my favorite portraits of the year.

To be fair, it’s not the first time I have photographed him.

Wildwood Music Co.

Wildwood Music Company is coming soon, and in the middle of their recording schedule we got together for a promo shoot. As with my previous shoot with Paper Pilots, I continue to be amazed at what motivated people can accomplish on a tight schedule. Thanks to Noah and James!

Justin David and Paper Pilots

There is something very special about working with people who are down to try anything for a good photo. I had the opportunity to photograph Justin David and Evan Winsor of Paper Pilots for some promos/album cover photos, and that extra bit of strange works. It’s amazing what 4 people can accomplish in 3 hours in Los Angeles. 5 locations and a few different looks brought this thing together in a neat little bow after being postponed multiple times by scheduling conflicts.

To the goods…

if you are in NY by chance…

…and would like to see one of my largest prints to date on a wall in a former public bath house…then I have some good news!

The photograph (see image below) will be on display April 1. At this point I am not exactly sure how long it will be hanging, but I’m excited that a piece of mine was chosen, and that I will have my art out to share with the people of New York. I wish I could be there to see it, as I consider it a small personal/professional victory to have my art curated in what is arguably a center of the artistic world.

See the info below, let me know if you’ll be in attendance.

A lot of working

Since I took on this new project of mine…It’s Better In The Wind, I’ve had to dive head first into all facets of its production. From shooting stills, to video filming and editing, fundraising, promotions…it’s amazing how much time it can consume. It is quite rewarding at 4am when you realize you’ve really given it your all for the day and can lay your head down to rest.

I don’t think I’ve been this consumed with social media…ever. But, alas this is such a fantastic tool to have at our disposal-we can connect with complete strangers with the hope of seeing eye to eye on our creative endeavors. Here are some links for you:

New Book Finished! With a video

So, since I’ve finished adding the last of my new pages into my book, I decided to put up a video showing the content, along with some out-takes and some production photos, to share the stories behind the pages. I think it is a cool way to find the cross between social, viral, and traditional marketing.

Take a look and enjoy! Feel free to get back to me with any feedback.

Kott Motorcycles

This week I did some work for a local motorcycle builder, Kott Motorcycles. We built a studio in a pretty tight space, and got to give my lights a workout for once.

Cheers,
Scott

New/Old Prints!

I’ve been debating on doing this for some time, and on this rainy day, I made it happen. I put up over 30 of my prints for sale on my website. They are almost all from my art school exploits in Boston, and I just want to get them out there to people who want them. They’ve been stored in boxes for the past few years, and deserve to be somewhere other than in my sketchbooks.

So, take a look, let me know if you want one or a few. I’m not charging much, and the prices already include shipping to your door.

I also have prints at my etsy store, more recent prints…I’ll get them on the website soon as well.
